01 / 03 / 2021

An official opening of Russian Textile Week has taken place at EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds. The key event of the Week is the Inlegmash 2021 exhibition. The Week also features the Interfabric 2021. Spring exhibition, Legpromforum 2021VII International Forum of the Textile Industry, Inlegmash International Industry Conference, Fashion Tech Day and Textile Trend Forum. The events simultaneously run on five sites in hybrid format.

The Week is organised by Soyuzlegprom – the Russian Union of Textile Industry Enterprises and EXPOCENTRE AO, supported by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, and the Russian Civic Chamber.

The official opening ceremony was attended by Sergey Katyrin, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, Sergey Bednov, Director General of EXPOCENTRE AO, Andrey Razbrodin, President of Soyuzlegprom, Francesco Pensabene, Director of ICE Moscow (Trade Promotion Section of the Italian Embassy in Moscow), Matthijs Crietee, Secretary General of IAF (International Apparel Federation), Tatiana Lugina, Head of Bellegprom Concern, and others. For the first time, the opening ceremony was held at EXPOCENTRE's new online studio specially designed for hybrid events.

“Every exhibition today is a significant event for us”, said Sergey Katyrin. “We have been in restrictive measures for so long that now we especially appreciate the opportunity to interact in person. An exhibition is an opportunity to see what is best in the industry. Therefore, it is very important for us to be able to showcase Russian brands, especially regional brands”.

“The crisis creates a lot of problems on the one hand”, Andrey Razbrodin continued. “On the other hand, it opens windows of opportunity. We are here to discuss these windows of opportunity. So that together we can enter our new future in a qualitative way. We will learn, exchange experiences and move forward. This is what the exhibition is all about”.

"Italy follows the Russian market with great attention and considers it one of the main markets for its industry. 2020 was a terrible year in terms of trade turnover, but nevertheless Italy managed to maintain fifth place in the list of partners of the Russian Federation. Both our countries confirm the strategic importance of each other, and our trade relations are of paramount importance to us," believes Francesco Pensabene.

“Inlegmash has been held since 1970”, said Sergey Bednov. “This year, the 20th edition of the exhibition celebrates its anniversary. In spite of the difficulties of the organisational period, the exhibition succeeded in completing. This year's participants include 96 companies from 13 countries”.

In the anniversary season, the Inlegmash 2021 exhibition for the first time features the unique Digital Factory project, a real prototype of a working digital textile factory. The project will present the full cycle of modern clothes production: from designing, printing and cutting to sewing the finished product.

The exhibition runs until 4 March.
