At the first International Fashion Forum Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Viktor Evtukhov informed that the ministry planned to adopt a strategy for Russian textile industry development for the period up to 2025 before July 2018.

“This strategy is needed by the industry, investors, enterprises, all those who are already working here or only planning to come into this business, because it can serve everybody as a navigator which shows prospects of markets, demand, needed raw materials, and competitive strengths of Russian enterprises in both foreign and domestic markets. We want to take into account everything, including all current trends in digital manufacturing,” said Mr. Evtukhov.

He also expanded on three main trends of the developing strategy. “The first one is of course development, emergence and use of new fabrics. It is not a secret that today high-tech synthetic fabrics take center stage. We will not lag behind. The second trend is creation of large manufacturing facilities which will can take large contracts and satisfy demands of major international retailers, for instance such well known ones as Zara or H&M. The third trend is digital economy which can’t be ignored by the textile industry,” said the deputy minister.
