Participants in Russian Textile Week discussed new opportunities in today’s economic conditions
A panel discussion “The Russian Textile and Garment Industry: Windows of Opportunities Amidst the Global Lockdown” has opened the Russian Textile Week programme started at EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds.
The moderator of the plenary session, Natalia Marova, editor-in-chief of the Retail.ru portal, opening the event, said that she was very pleased to see a full room of participants after such a difficult period of restrictions. "The main objective of our plenary session today is to present the programme, the speakers and the main activities that will take place within Russian Textile Week," Natalia Marova stressed.
President of Soyuzlegprom Andrey Razbrodin drew attention to the unusual nature of today's meeting, and that it was also an opportunity for the largest industry association to discuss current problems and issues.
In his welcoming speech, Dmitry Kurochkin, Vice-President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, described the main areas of cooperation between the Chamber and Soyuzlegprom. "Soyuzlegprom has been our member organisation for more than 20 years and we have a huge long-term experience of cooperation at all levels," emphasised Mr. Kurochkin. In his speech, he spoke about the systematic work to support light industry enterprises, about the assistance that has been provided to dozens of enterprises through the joint efforts of the Chamber of Commerce and the Industrial Development Fund.
Artyom Starchenko, Director of 3DaVinci, developer of the LEGPROM.cloud Marketplace, announced the presentation of his project at the exhibition and invited everyone to participate.
Vitaly Kadulin, Head of the Centre for Technological Excellence at Soyuzlegprom, spoke about the new opportunities offered to industry entrepreneurs. "Despite the fact that the Centre of Technological Excellence was established relatively recently, programmes for training design professionals have already been launched and the first residents have appeared," the speaker said.
Dmitry Efremov, Vice President at the United Leasing Company, Deputy Director General for the Russian Northwestern Federal District at Siemens Finance OOO, announced the events of the accompanying programme dedicated to the modernisation of production through leasing and SME support options. All events are held as part of Russian Textile Week.
The event continued Andrey Kalashnikov, Chairman of the Sewing Industry Committee of Soyuzlegprom and General Director of Trigon-Select, Alexandra Kaloshina, founder of Solstudio Textile Group, Mikhail Shpilkin, expert of Digital Textile magazine, Chairman of the Committee for Digital Printing and Decorating Textiles of Soyuzlegprom and others.
