Textile Week at Expocentre

Russian Textile Week 2023, Russia's major congress and exhibition event for textile machinery and light industry professionals, opened today at Expocentre Fairgrounds.

The Week programme includes the 22nd International Exhibition for Equipment for the Textile and Garment Industry - Inlegmash 2023, the Inlegmash International Industrial Conference, the International Exhibition for Fabrics and Textile Materials Interfabric 2023, the International Light Industry Forum ‘Legpromforum’. The synergy of all these events helped to create not only an integrated exhibition of equipment, raw materials, materials and goods of the textile and light industry, but also an effective communication platform for the development of cooperation between the textile industry and related industries.

Russian Textile Week 2023 is organised by EXPOCENTRE AO in partnership with the Souzlegprom – the Russian Union of Textile Industry Enterprises with the support of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, and under the auspices of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Inlegmash 2023 will bring together more than 100 companies from Austria, Germany, India, Italy, Spain, the Republic of Korea, China, Latvia, Russia and Turkiye. They are showcasing the latest equipment and industry solutions. For the first time, with the support of the Textile Machinery and Accessories Trade Show (TEMSAD), a national stand of Turkiye will be organised. The Russian light industry is represented by 55 companies.

More than 370 manufacturers and suppliers of fabrics, textile materials, knitted fabrics, accessories, home, technical, medical textiles and nonwovens from China, Belarus, Russia, Turkiye and Uzbekistan came to Interfabric 2023.

Russian Textile Week 2023 opened with the Plenary Session on Market Needs as the Motivation for Industry Development.

Welcoming the participants of Russian Textile Week 2023, Sergey Selivanov, First Deputy Director General of EXPOCENTRE AO, noted the importance of RTW for the textile and light industry of our country. He stressed that in the current climate of sanctions pressure, the objective of the exhibitions is to help Russian businesses to reorient to new markets in a short time, establish ties with new partners and strengthen interregional cooperation. The projects that make up Russian Textile Week, in particular Inlegmash, will contribute to achieving these goals. "The Inlegmash exhibition has grown even in comparison to the pre-Covid year 2019. Today, it showcases equipment for all stages of textile and garment production. At the same time, the current exposition will delight industry professionals with a large set of novelties," said Sergey Selivanov.

Andrey Razbrodin, President of Souzlegprom, added that the Interfabric exhibition has undergone a significant transformation both in terms of quantity and quality. Today, according to him, it is already a quality modern international exhibition.

Dmitry Kurochkin, the Vice President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, told about the work aimed at technological improvement of the industry and preferential financing of the industry projects, conducted jointly with Souzlegprom. In particular, he said that the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Souzlegprom proposed to include the textile and light industry in the list of key industries, which not only contribute to the development of the country's economy, but also ensure its security.  

The plenary session, which was moderated by Ekaterina Gracheva, host of the Rossiya 24 TV channel, was also attended by Sergey Morozov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee for Regional Policy and Local Self-Government, Alexey Nechaev, Head of the "New People" faction in the State Duma, Alexander Murychev, Vice President of RSPP, and heads of industry associations and companies.           

They discussed state support measures, issues related to state order in the industry, cooperation of textile companies for joint growth, cooperation with allied industries and other topics.
